Chow chow is one of the oldest breeds, it is over 3000 years old. The breed comes from the territory of Mongolia, Tibet or Manchuria. Chow chow is a strong, extremely intelligent dog with great stubbornness. Dogs of this breed accompanied Chinese emperors and aristocrats in hunting, they also protected the temples from demons. They were also used as guard dogs (guarding houses and flocks). Nowadays, the chow chow breed is no longer used in this way, it is still a house guardian but more like a companion dog.
Chow Chow's are very calm and cat like dogs. All tough each of them has a different personality, most of them are wary of strangers. Chow Chow's from our kennel are socialized with kids and adults from a very young age. That's why later on they love all people and they are kind and loving pets to their families.
Chow's can't exercise more than one hour a day. They are a lazy breed for people that like slow walks rather than running. They are a perfect personality match for a smart, average activity, kind person.
